the Mask

i've got a Mask
to protect me from the World
i only wear it Occasionally
twenty-two hours each Day
it protects me from the World

at morning in the mirror it's There
to protect me from Reality
my life is Satisfactory
but my Mask i Treasure
it protects me from Reality

i Sleep i Dream but still it Remains
it protects me from my Heart
late into the night i Hide
then it falls subconsciously
and for two hours my Heart

is alive and free and free
from the Mask which Suffocates
which is Eating me away
like a Mountain two tall
two be left Standing
